The Furnace

1. DESIGN AND PROJECT

Each of our lighting products
starts with a careful project study

The Boutike designers outline on paper (also on customer instructions) the models that will then be made by the hands of our craftsmen masters. The drawings can take back the classic Venetian tradition or propose new ideas and styles, depending on the collection of belonging.

2. SELECTION AND MATERIAL PREPARATION

We now enter the furnace

We observe the preparatory rituals of selection and preparation of raw materials that anticipate all the production phases. The artisans prepare the melted glass pasta at 1500oC and select the powder for colouring. It is a decisive moment for the success of the product and nothing can be left to chance.

3. GLASS BLOWING

Here we are: Masters get to work

The hot vitrea paste, called "bolo", is taken from the crucible with a particular instrument called a blowpipe. Now the artisan begins to shape the pasta with quick movements of the hands and blowing inside the pipe creating voluminous surfaces.
